Knockout Round 1 Results

Results are In!

Round 1 of the 2026 Knockout Series occurred yesterday at Moss Park Armoury, within the welcoming setting of the 48th Highlanders Sgt's Mess. This venue is renowned for it's historic atmosphere and has hosted numerous piping/drumming contests and performances.


Yesterday, pipers of various ages competed across three grade levels: Professional, A Division (Grades 1 & 2), and B Division (Grades 3 & 4).

The event was judged by Hector MacDonald, a prominent figure in the Ontario piping and judging community for several decades. Following the competition, Hector delivered a recital, highlighting his extensive repertoire and composing skills.

Regarding the results in the B Division, Jack Thomas secured first place, with Delano Cina and Nelson Bendall following in second and third, respectively.


In the A Division, each competitor performed two 6/8 marches. Mitchell Arnold achieved first place for the second consecutive year, with Luke Baltrusaitis and Liam Farrell earning second and third places, respectively.


In the Professional Division, Andrew Hutton took first place with a thrilling set that included Crossing the Minch and Old Wife of the Mill Dust.
